This morning’s theme: poses during which I can drink my coffee. And twists. And I may have made my playlist a little too badass because there was a yoga dance party (I can’t stay still during any song that featured on a soundtrack of a teen dramedy from the late 1990s / early 2000s). #yoga #coffee #music #notashamed
Top left: I’ve been seeing this pose floating around (probably part of a January photo challenge?). I had never tried it before. It’s kind of fun. My toes got a workout because this wasn’t the only pose that required them tucked…
Center left: Stole this from donutyogi. Hint: make sure your toes are gripping your mat, or you’re suddenly going to have really good splits…
Center right: I’ve NEVER been able to do this. (This is the twist where you’re grabbing both feet with the opposite hand.) It just seemed like something to do today.
Bottom left and center: Reclined pigeon does very little for me, but adding the twist has felt AMAZING on my outer hip, particularly my left one.
Bottom right: Garundasana in salamba sarvangasana (say that five times fast.. or once). I actually tried twisting my arms (while my feet were on the floor and my knees were to my chest) to see if it worked. Note: It does not. Well, kinda. But mostly not really.
Warning: Home practice makes you a little crazy.
